Think popcorn, but smaller and crunchier. Popped milo is a fun, easy snack that shows off one of this grain's best-kept secrets — it pops!

Popped Milo

Servings: ~2 Minutes

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup milo (sorghum) grains
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (avocado oil or ghee also work)

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pot over high heat until simmering but not smoking.
  • Add the milo and cover with a lid.
  • The kernels will begin popping quickly. Shake the pot occasionally to keep things moving and prevent burning.
  • When the popping slows significantly, remove from heat and pour into a bowl. Season as you like and serve.
